Wir müssen uns damit beschäftigen. Denn, was im ‘Nahen’ Osten geschieht, hat erhebliche Auswirkungen auf unser Leben hier in Berlin. Unser Format FERNKONtakT verbindet uns regelmäßig mit Kunstschaffenden auf der ganzen Welt - und diesmal mit solchen im Libanon: Sie sorgen sich um unser aller Freiheit, schreiben die Künstler:innen der ZOUKAK Theatre Company in einem offenen Brief an Kolleg:innen u.a. in Berlin - im Lichte eines neuen Krieges in ihrem Land, unter Einfluss einer Übermacht von Tech-Konzernen und weiter um sich greifenden extremistischen Tendenzen in Europa.

An Künstler:innen und Kulturschaffende, Denker:innen, Schriftsteller:innen, Philosoph:innen in den USA, der EU und den Commonwealth-Ländern - 
Stellen Sie sich vor, stellt Euch vor: Ein Vater umarmt einen Schuhkarton mit den unkenntlichen Überresten seines Sohnes. 
Aus dem, was übrig bleibt, schreiben wir Ihnen und Euch diesen Brief. Aus dem, was übrig bleibt, sehen wir die Geschichte. Die Geschichte, der wir ausweichen, wenn Ihr uns fragt, wie es uns geht.
In dem, was übrig bleibt, ist kein Platz für Höflichkeit. Da ist kein Platz für Resilienz. In dem, was bleibt, nistet Ehrlichkeit.  Was bleibt, ist das, womit wir konfrontiert sind: die Schuhkartons unserer Realitäten.
Wenn Ihr fragt, wie es uns geht, finden wir keine Worte. Was wir sagen können, ist, womit wir konfrontiert sind. Wir sind mit Militärtechnologien konfrontiert, die mit künstlicher Intelligenz gesteuert sind, und mit Waffen, die international verboten sind. ( ... )

Reading and digital-analogue exchange with artists in Lebanon
We need to address this. Because what is happening in the ‘Middle’ East has a significant impact on our lives here in Berlin. Our FERNKONtakT programme regularly connects us with artists from all over the world – and this time with those in Lebanon: They are concerned for the freedom of us all, write the artists of the ZOUKAK Theatre Company in an open letter to colleagues in Berlin and elsewhere – in the wake of a new war in their country, under the influence of a dominant force of tech corporations, and amid the spread of extremist tendencies in Europe.

Letters From The Ground 1: FROM WHAT REMAINS by Zoukak Collektive​
To Artists and Cultural Workers, thinkers, writers, philosophers in the US, EU and Commonwealth countries - Imagine: A father hugging a shoe box, holding the unrecognisable remains of his son. 
From what remains, we write you this letter. From what remains, we see the story. The story that we find ourselves avoiding when you ask us how we are doing. In what remains there is no space for politeness. There is no space for resilience. In what remains nestles honesty. What remains is what we face; the shoe boxes of our realities. When you ask how we are doing we find no words. What we can tell is what we face. We are facing military technologies based on artificial intelligence and weapons that are internationally prohibited.
